ACS Time Critical
Delivering a time-critical shipment for a grounded aircraft
When our client’s aircraft became grounded, we worked quickly to expedite the delivery of a spare part.
After one of their aircraft became grounded, an airline requested our help getting it back in the air. The plane’s windshield was damaged and a replacement needed to be flown in from Florida to Texas, so we got straight to work on expediting the delivery of the critical part in order to avoid costly delays to our client’s flight schedule.
Our Solution
Route: Miami > Ohio
Service: Trucking, Next Flight Out
We quickly found a solution, relaying it to our client within the hour. Deciding to transport the windshield on a passenger plane, we reached out to our network of contacts and opted for the next flight out to Dallas on a Boeing 737-800. We arranged for the 200-pound windshield to travel in the plane’s cargo hold before being trucked the rest of the way.
After the flight had departed, our client got in touch asking if the part could be delivered to Ohio instead. Working quickly, we changed the ground transfer, arranging for the windshield to be picked up from the airport in Dallas and trucked to Ohio.
